Setting Up Help Me Choose
Help Me Choose allows visitors to answer a series of simple questions and receive membership packages that best match their needs.
Depending on your LEAP setup, Help Me Choose may be used for Membership Packages, Hospitality Packages, or other products.
The questionnaire can be as simple or as sophisticated as you need. You can create a straightforward series of questions that everyone follows, or build a decision tree where the questions shown depend on the answers a visitor selects.
Once complete, LEAP matches the visitor’s answers against your products and recommends the most relevant options.
How Help Me Choose Works
There are three main parts to setting up Help Me Choose:
- Questionnaire controls the introduction, imagery and overall behaviour.
- Questionnaire Items contains your questions and answers.
- Products are assigned the answers that apply to them.
Think of the answers as the connection between the questionnaire and your products.
For example, a user might tell you they want:
Home games → Reserved seat → Family membership
Your products are tagged with the relevant answers, allowing LEAP to determine which packages best match those selections.
1. Configure the Questionnaire
Go to:
Entries → Singles → Questionnaire
This page controls the overall Help Me Choose experience and the introductory screen visitors see before beginning.
Add your welcome content, including the relevant:
- Heading
- Summary or introductory text
- Images
- Button text and other available display options

This is a good place to briefly explain what Help Me Choose does and encourage the visitor to get started.
Optional Data Capture
Help Me Choose can optionally display a data capture form before revealing the user’s recommendations.

Enable this if you’d like visitors to provide their details before seeing their results.
This can be useful for generating membership or hospitality leads while still providing the user with an immediate recommendation. All data is stored in the CMS and an email is sent to notify admins of the submission. There is also an API available for data integration into the team's chosen CRM.

If data capture isn’t required, leave this option disabled and visitors will proceed directly to their results.
Matching All Answers
The Questionnaire settings also include an option to require a product to match all selected answers.
Enable this when you want Help Me Choose to return only products that perfectly match every answer supplied by the visitor.
This is useful where your products have clearly defined characteristics and you want to provide a very precise recommendation.
If this setting is disabled, Help Me Choose can provide recommendations based on the answers that best match the user’s selections.
2. Create Your Questions and Answers
Go to:
Entries → Questionnaire Items
This section contains the structure of your questionnaire.
There are two entry types:
- Question
- Answer
Questions and answers are arranged in a hierarchy, with each answer sitting underneath its corresponding question.
A simple questionnaire might look something like:
Who are you buying for?
↳ Adult
↳ Junior
↳ Family
What games would you like access to?
↳ Home Games
↳ All Games
Where would you like to sit?
↳ General Admission
↳ Reserved Seat
↳ Premium Seating
The order of your questions determines the journey through the questionnaire when using a standard linear setup.

3. Adding a Question
Create a new entry and select the Question entry type.

For each question:
- Enter the question you’d like displayed.
- Add an image where applicable.
- Position the question in the appropriate place within the Questionnaire Items structure.
You will also see a Final Question option.
Enable this when the question is the final step in the questionnaire.
This tells LEAP that once the visitor answers this question, it can move on to generating their recommendations.
4. Adding Answers
Create an Answer entry for each available response.
Important: Each Answer must be positioned as a child of its Question in the structure.
For example:
What type of seating do you prefer?
↳ General Admission
↳ Reserved Seat
↳ Premium Seating
This parent/child relationship tells LEAP which answers belong to each question.
For a simple linear questionnaire, this may be all you need to configure.

Linear Questionnaires vs Decision Trees
There are two ways you can structure the Help Me Choose journey.
Linear Questionnaire
A linear questionnaire shows everyone the same questions in the same order.
For example:
Question 1 → Question 2 → Question 3 → Results
This is the easiest setup and works well when all questions are relevant to every visitor.
Simply arrange your questions in order and add the relevant answers underneath each one.
Decision Tree
For more sophisticated questionnaires, the next question can change depending on the visitor’s previous answer.
For example:
Who are you buying for?
If they choose Adult:
→ Ask about seating preference.
If they choose Family:
→ Ask how many children are included.
If they choose Junior:
→ Ask about age group.
This allows you to create much more personalised journeys without asking users questions that aren’t relevant to them.
5. Setting the Next Question
When editing an Answer, you can optionally select the Next Question.
This tells LEAP where the visitor should go after choosing that particular answer.
You only need to use this when building a decision tree.
Different answers under the same question can therefore send visitors in completely different directions.
Final Answer
When building a decision tree, an Answer can also be marked as a Final Answer.
Use this when selecting that answer should complete the questionnaire rather than sending the visitor to another question.
LEAP will then move on to the recommendation stage.
6. Assign Answers to Your Products
Once your questionnaire has been created, the final step is to tell LEAP which answers apply to each product.
Open the relevant Package or Hospitality entry.
Find the Help Me Choose / Questionnaire Answers field and select all answers that describe that product.
For example, a family reserved-seat membership might be assigned:
- Family
- Home Games
- Reserved Seat
- Full Season
Repeat this across your products.
This is what allows Help Me Choose to compare the visitor’s answers with the available products and determine which ones should be recommended.
Planning Your Questionnaire
It is worth planning your questions before building them in the CMS, particularly if you’re creating a decision tree.
A simple outline can save a lot of time:
Who is the membership for?
→ Adult
→ Junior
→ Family
Which games do you want?
→ Home Games
→ All Games
What seating do you prefer?
→ General Admission
→ Reserved Seat
→ Premium
For a decision tree, map out where each answer should lead before setting up the entries in LEAP.
Testing Help Me Choose
Once everything is configured, run through the questionnaire on the website yourself.
Try several different combinations and check that:
- Questions appear in the expected order.
- Decision tree answers lead to the correct next question.
- Final questions and answers correctly finish the questionnaire.
- The expected products appear in the results.
- Products aren’t appearing for answers that don’t apply to them.
- Data capture appears at the correct point, if enabled.
For decision trees, it’s worth testing every possible path at least once before publishing the questionnaire.
Making Changes Later
Help Me Choose is designed so the questionnaire can evolve alongside your product range.
You can:
- Add or remove answers.
- Add new questions.
- Change the order of questions.
- Create new decision tree paths.
- Update which answers are assigned to products.
- Change the introductory content without rebuilding the questionnaire.
When adding a new product, remember to assign its relevant questionnaire answers so it can be included in Help Me Choose recommendations.

Before launching Help Me Choose, check that:
